First, let me tell you a little bit about my Daddy [yes, I still call him Daddy!  But what can I say?  I am still his Chiquitita (means “little girl” in Spanish)].  When he was around 14 years old, he went on his first mission trip!  He went to Panama and spent time with the natives and even tried some interesting foods (including monkey brain… haha).  During that mission trip, he knew that this is what he was called to do.   Growing up, he did a lot of mission trips to Mexico with his family and church.  Through all this he met my Mommy and so the story goes… they fell in love and got married.  My Dad and Mom then moved to Chihuahua, Mexico where my Dad continued as a missionary.  He spent a lot of his time witnessing to the Tarahumara Native Americans.  My parents then moved to the US before I was born.  My Mom said she would move back once all of us kids finished school.  I was the last one to finish high school but my Mom still wasn’t ready to leave.  In late 2004, my Dad knew it was time to go back.  He was getting ready to pack everthing and go back down with my Mom  but by early 2005, my Mom passed away.  My Dad moved down to Mexico to start up his ministry.  He now lives down in a town near Mexicali with his wife, Eva.

I am so proud to call him Dad because I have seen God shine through him.  And I am so happy that he supports me in all I do.

Anyway, the reason I write this is because I wrote my Dad an email today letting him know where I am spiritually and financially as I prepare for this trip.  I told him how I was nervous that maybe this wasn’t really what God called me to but that I would go through every door He opens along the way as I prepare.

Anyway, he emailed me back and he said, “…  Now all He asks is that you continue to have FAITH and TRUST no matter how bleek things look, remember Abraham when he was about to sacrifice Issac,he had already told his son¨God will provide¨,and his hand was raised and he was already in motion with knife when GOD intervened, and provided for that sacrifice.SO never NEVER loose FAITH at any time…”

This is so true!  I want a faith like Abrahams’ and I pray that all those going on this adventure seek a faith like Abrahams’

He also left me with these verses:
 Eph. 3:20
Phil. 4:6-7
Heb. 10:22-23
Luke 1:37

This is my favorite photo of my Daddy and me… no, I am not picking my nose… when I was little, I tend to put my hands in front of my face.  I don’t know why.
