My days have been so busy but today I had an opportunity to write a blog (only because my tummy was feeling pretty sick).

My team is working in the small town of Guachupita.  The first day we arrived and viewed the town from a plato and it just hit heavy.  Homes are made of tin cans, trash covers the city streets and backyards and kids run around half dresses (if dressed at all) with no shoes.  While standing there, God also filled our hearts with hope for this town and its people.

In the back corner of the town is a small community of believers.  A few years ago a FYM team came out and built some pretty sweet relationships with these people.  And in this corner of Guachupita, people were saved.

Dulce Maria opens her house to prayer and worship every Tuesday with those around her.  Her love for God and others is abundant.  She is raising her two grandaughters; Imerali and Erica.  Imerali writes the songs and leads worship every Tuesday.  Let me tell you, she is very talented for an 11 year old.  I am so excited about how God is going to use these girls in Guachupita and all the D.R.  Pray that God continues to use them.

Carmen (Dulce’s neighbor) is also a member of the church and is very hospitable.  Keep her in your prayers, her right eye has been bothering her.

Oreolis, Melagritos and Jr are a family across the street.  They have it pretty tough because Oriolis can’t seem to find a job.  He had some kind of accident which left his arm pretty messed up.  There is a piece of shrap metal or something in his arm.  Because Oreolis can’t provide, he turns to alcohol.  Please pray for healing and freedom from alcohol.  Also for restoration in his marriage.

Papi, Chula and their kids are a joy.  Their kids are Patricia, Annabelle, Franger, Fraili and Daili.  There two daughters are the oldest and already take on a lot of responsabilities for their age (11 and 10).  Please pray that they get the opportunity to enjoy their youth.

The last family I want to tell you about which is dear to our hearts (as well as AIM’s contact, Miguel).  Clemente, Ida and Alexander.  Alexander is 3 years old and lives with his grandparents.  When he was 1, his mom hit him in the eye which triggered the complications he deals with now.  His eye is unable to pour out any liquid and therefore his eye swells.  A while back he got surgery and they placed a tube in his eye to let it pour out.  Occassionally it still swells.  His grandparents believe that God will heal him completely.  Whether it be an amazing miracle from the God who works the same today or whether God decides to use the doctors.  Pray for healing!

We are unable to take camera’s for now in the little town but as soon as I get to, I will show you photos of my amazing brothers and sisters here in Guachupita.

I also am way behind on funds I need to raise.  I would love to stay the entire 11 months and be able to participate in all parts of ministry but if I don’t get the funds, I may be asked to go home or spend time away from ministry to send out blogs, letters, etc.  and I don’t even have the money to do those.  Please support me through my AIM account, on the left it says, “Support Me Please!”  Or if you would like to give to my personal fund go to www.freewebs.com/gdzgrl777 and on the left you will see a link that says, “How you can help”.  On that page you will find a paypal link.  Thank you and God bless!
