God is pretty amazing! I know that most of you who read this already know this, but seriously. God has done some pretty amazing things over the course of my life that have brought me to where I am now. I look back to the day I found AIM’s website and found myself applying when I told myself I wouldn’t do another mission trip for awhile. I remember the day I got accepted and freaked out because I was really scared about leaving; I did everything in my power to avoid getting here (like waiting until after the deadlines to turn in paperwork). I remember finally choosing in but then wondering if it was truly God’s will because money wasn’t coming in. Even in the last weeks before leaving, I struggled with believing. The day I was supposed to be at $8,280 and was only at $2,500. I was graciously given an extra day to raise money and it seemed almost impossible but raised just enough to get me on the field.

Now, I am learning to give God full control. I am still way behind anyone else on the squad (I am pretty sure) but God is a God of Miracles. Please, if God is tugging at your heart (even just a little bit) prayerfully consider supporting me. I have $3,610 in my account and $20/month in pledges. AIM will having me posting blogs if I am more than 30% behind which means I might have to miss out on some ministry and both AIM and I would hate for that to happen. AIM is doing everything in their power to keep me here but we can’t do it without your support.

Now, I want to tell you the amazing things God has been doing in Guachupita. There is a pretty dangerous man who lives in this town; he has killed a man before and it has left this town shaken. Well, this last Saturday, while helping Clamente build his outhouse, I could hear a blood curdling scream, it was this man beating his wife and throwing pretty big stones at her. It hit our team pretty hard and we had to get away from the town and spend some time in prayer and process what just happened. It was really hard because we wanted to intercede but who knows what this man would have done to us and he may have beat her even worst after we put ourselves in the middle. We all asked that God would intercede in this place where we felt incapable.

On Sunday, Di led our time together. She talked about how to pray and how powerful prayer is when we have faith. She then asked Dulce and Clemente to talk about a time where God has answered their prayers. Dulce started talking about this man who was beating his wife the day before. She said she started to pray that God would intercede and as soon as she finished her prayer the woman stopped screaming and she felt at peace. The man has since been pretty quiet.

God is amazing!

note: photo not from slums but in front of home where we stay and the kid is David who lives nearby and hangs out with all of us almost everyday.

other note:  I just read through my emails and found out that my sister-in-law´s mother isn´t doing so well and the doctor´s give her 7 months.  Please pray for her and her family and my family.
